YMCA-YWCA
of Winnipeg
For over 140 years, the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg has provided thousands of children and adults with programs and services dedicated to personal growth and community development.
The Y is best known for our work with youth and in promoting health, but we also provide opportunities for people to develop leadership skills, philanthropic attitudes and a global perspective. We deliver lasting personal and social change.
Programs
Our After School Program is for students with additional support needs, ages 13-21, whose parents require after school supports for employment purposes. We provide a safe and non-judgmental environment in which the students are free to express themselves and participate in activities that promote social interaction. Staff are trained to foster the self-worth and independence of the students. Daily activities – planned by the students and adapted to be inclusive – include: science experiments, sports, arts/crafts, music, and many others. Programs run during the school year, Monday-Friday from 2:45pm-6:00pm. Day camps are also offered over the Spring and Summer Breaks.
Below is a list of current programs. Please note that your child may still be eligible for our program, even if they don’t attend a school listed below (during COVID-19, only youth who attend the schools noted can attend during current Public Health restrictions). The programs marked with an * are currently not running but are registering applicants ahead of January 2022. If you are interested in registering your child at any of the programs marked with an *, please contact the program coordinator
